Club History

1958
Established

Geelong Macedonia Soccer Club was established in 1958 by Geelong’s Macedonian migrant community and was originally based at Hurst Reserve, Herne Hill

1967

Geelong Macedonia changed its name to West Geelong Soccer Club in 1967 & moved to a new home at Eastern Gardens (now Howard Glover Reserve)

1970

In the early 1970’s the club was promoted to the Victorian Provisional League and later gained promotion to the Victorian State League.

1984

Changed name to East Geelong Soccer Club

1989
Moved from Howard Glover Reserve to Myers Reserve
1991

Moved from Myers Reserve to Hume Reserve

1992
Promotion

East Geelong SC finished 2nd in Provisional League 2 and gains promotion to Provisional League 1

1994
Takeover
East Geelong Soccer Club acquired the financially stricken Geelong Soccer and Sports Club and moved to its current home at Stead Park taking on the latter name and taking its place in State League 4

Geelong SC is crowned champions of State League 4. Promoted to State League 3

Geelong SC is crowned State League 3 champion. Promoted to State League 2

Geelong unveils new multi-million dollar soccer complex

Champions

Geelong SC crowned champions of State League 1 and promoted to NPL2 after meeting criteria for National Premier League licence.

7th place

Geelong finishes 7th in its first year in NPL2 West.

2020
NPL Restructure

Football Victoria decision to restructure the NPL Victoria competition see Geelong SC relegated to the newly created NPL3 competition.

2020

Season cancelled due to pandemic

2021

Covid affected season cut short after 14 rounds

2023
Macedonian Cup

Geelong finish runner up in the annual Australian Macedonian Cup tournament losing 1-0 in the grand final to Altona Magic.
