Open Women – PASSION FLARES

GEELONG DEFEATS BARWON HEADS 2-0

Once again Geelong had to “fight” hard to come away with the points. Fronting up with only 9 players was not going to be an easy task against a full strength opposition. But this did not deter our endeavour to win. With our continuous attacking play we were eventually able to penetrate their solid defense. A long ball from Jov to Emily, who then sent Milly on her way to place the perfect ball for Sumeyra who lobbed it over the keeper.

After “passions” for each other and for the ball reached an all time high, Geelong was reduced to only 8 players and Barwon Heads had to play with only 10 on the field. Regardless of the mismatch, Geelong continued to punch through the oppositions defense with Milly  securing the result with a super combination play with younger sister Emily.

An overall “SUPERB” TEAM EFFORT by the GIRLS.
