Moreland City 1:0 Geelong SC

On Saturday the 25th of July, our Men’s team lost 1-0 @ Moreland City. It’s the 3rd time in a row we’ve lost to that dreaded 1-0 scoreline. This latest loss pushed us down to 9th position on the Ladder, 6 points above the relegation zone.

Our next opponent is 11th placed and relegation threatened Melbourne Uni so a result is paramount for our survival in this Division.  This weekend our squad will be further thinned will the unavailability of key players Boz and Niko.

The match at Moreland City was a close battle. Our boys should consider themselves unlucky to come away without anything from this match. Team Manager, Georgi, says “our young squad put-in a very good effort, they all battled hard”. The difference between the sides was a silly goal that we conceded from a goalmouth scramble.

This round would be perfect to snap our losing streak, a win would increase our gap from the “drop” to 9 points. The stakes are high this weekend lets hope our squad can respond to the pressure with a result. Good luck boys!

Kudos to our Reserve Team, they held top of the Table Moreland City to a 0-0 draw.
