GeelongSC Women avenge Grand Final Result with 3-1 Win

A very focused Geelong were determined to redeem last year`s grand final loss to Barwon with an outstanding display of football. The team worked hard to a disciplined structure under the guidance of coach John Costa which enabled Geelong to create countless scoring opportunities and also impede any Barwon attack.

The young Emily Livesey was once again instrumental in leading by example with her “win at all times “ attitude. Her precise passing and positioning enabled older sister Millie to score 2 goals and take her tally to 11 goals for the season.

The combined play of Sumeyra to Emily to Millie and a perfect square ball to Kate who hammered it passed the keeper from outside the 16 yard box put Geelong 3-0 up. A lapse of concentration by the defence enabled Barwon to peg a goal back and make it 3-1. However Geelong were able to re-group and get back to the task through Maddie, Sumeyra, Angela and an inform Emily in goals that ensured Geelong a 3-1 victory.
