The spirited Geelong women put on another disciplined display of precision football which saw them run-out comfortable 5-1 winners.
With a heavily “stacked” Deakin defense, Geelong had to move the ball around through the midfield to open up the game and free–up players to give Millie and Suzanne the opportunities to put the ball in the net. After a receiving a solid “knock” last week, Suzanne rose to the challenge of producing a superb performance which netted her 3 goals for the day. Not to be outdone the young Millie also bagged another 2 goals for Geelong.
The level headed Geelong moved the ball around unselfishly creating genuine scoring chances that they were able to capitalize on. The standard and momentum of Geelong`s movement of the ball, their clear decisive passing and their focus on team play and continuous encouragement of each other paves the way for a strong and prosperous season. The spirit of the team was the shining light of Geelong in an overall team effort.
