GeelongSC GRFA men win comfortably over Surfside Waves.
With an injury rattled side, there was some relief with the return of Miki Nikoloski and a fully fit Peter Stojanovski. But the smile of coach George Dimovski said it all, a much relieved man after two losses in a row.
In the first half Geelong was put to the test when Surfside opened the account with Geelong’s defence paying the price. Not long after Zoran Talevski was pushed upfront hoping to catch Surfsides defence off guard and he came close to doing just that when his attempt at goal shaved the post. Few minutes passed and GeelongSC continued the account with a nice finish from Miki. Before the celebrations could end, Surfside took the lead again from another defensive error. The pressure was on and the coach had to step up and silence his critics and that was exactly what he did with a nice finish going into the half time break making the score 2 all.
In the second half GeelongSC came out firing applying much needed pressure. Geelong’s midfield dominated and Surfside Waves were rattled. The Waves were pressured into making mistakes and great finishes from Peter, Miki and George put the game beyond their reach.
George Dimovski and Miki Nikoloski finishing with 2 goals beside there name and 1 to Peter Stojanovski. The game finished 5-2 for the home side. A much needed 3 points for GeelongSC.
Next week GeelongSC is scheduled to play Deakin University at home. Due to personal commitments and more than half of the team being invited to weddings, GeelongSC is hoping to postpone the game.
